Adobe Summit 2025: Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service unveiled

Adobe Summit 2025, held on March 18, introduced Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service (ACCS): a fully managed, cloud-native version of the platform where Adobe takes the infrastructure off your plate entirely.

What ACCS is

ACCS is Adobe's fully managed SaaS offering for Adobe Commerce. A traditional Commerce deployment leaves you managing infrastructure, scaling, updates and security patches. ACCS moves all of that to Adobe — platform upgrades, security patches, infrastructure scaling, performance optimisation and compliance — and leaves you with commerce strategy and customer experience.

The operational shift

This is a move from IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) to full SaaS. No server capacity to size, no load balancing to tune, no database administration, no deployment pipelines to keep alive. You configure the store, integrate your extensions and watch the business metrics.

For an enterprise retailer running complex global operations, that removes a large standing cost that never appeared on a single line of the P&L.

Commerce Optimizer alongside it

ACCS arrives with Commerce Optimizer, an AI-powered companion that reports on store performance in real time, shows the revenue impact of configuration changes, and recommends where to optimise. It learns your patterns, finds conversion bottlenecks and puts evidence behind the suggestions — so the platform is doing some of the analysis you'd otherwise be doing yourself.

What it means for larger retailers

ACCS removes the need for a dedicated infrastructure team, takes capital expenditure on servers and databases off the books, builds governance in for compliance, and shortens the path from idea to live feature. The all-in monthly fee makes the budget predictable, with no infrastructure bills arriving as a surprise.

Where it sits in the market

ACCS puts Adobe up against Shopify Plus and WooCommerce Cloud while keeping Adobe Commerce's flexibility and enterprise capability. If you want genuinely managed commerce without giving up customisation, that combination has been hard to buy until now.

For us and our partners, it shifts the work — less infrastructure management, more commerce strategy and optimisation. We are not going to pretend that upsets us.

What this means for you

ACCS launched in select regions in Q2 2025, with a phased rollout through the year. If you're considering a move, start the evaluation now: the operational gains land sooner for the merchants who go first.
