Adobe has launched an Adobe Sign extension for Adobe Commerce (Magento), letting merchants collect electronic signatures during checkout.
What it does
The extension puts Adobe Sign's e-signature capability directly into the Commerce checkout. Customers sign the agreement without leaving the purchase journey.
The usual candidates: terms and conditions on high-value purchases, service agreements, compliance documentation, warranty clauses, GDPR consents and licensing agreements.
Setting it up
The extension talks to the Adobe Sign REST APIs. Connect your Adobe Sign account, configure the documents, map the fields, test.
Signed documents are archived and available through the Adobe Sign portal, so they can feed document management and compliance workflows rather than sitting in somebody's inbox.
What this means for you
If you sell in a regulated category, the signature is currently a step that happens after the order — by email, by post, or occasionally not at all. Moving it into checkout removes the chase and gives you an audit trail for every signature you collect.
It is not a change to how you sell. It is a change to how much administration follows each sale.
