In November 2023 Adobe brought developers and technical leaders together at Adobe Developers Live to show what its SaaS-based commerce services can do.
What was shown
The sessions covered the SaaS services that now sit alongside the core platform — search and Catalog Service among them — and the architecture behind them: services that scale and ship on their own schedule rather than the application's.
What this means for you
A conference session is not a release, and nothing changed on your store that week. It is a reasonable signal of where the platform investment is going, though.
If you have a decision in front of you between building a capability into the core application or consuming it as a service, that direction is worth knowing before you commit the budget.
