Channel Manager for Walmart Marketplace ships

In December 2022 Adobe released Channel Manager for Walmart Marketplace — a first-party integration that connects an Adobe Commerce (Magento) store to Walmart's marketplace platform with no middleware in between.

What it does

Rather than running inventory, orders and product information across two systems, US merchants manage Walmart Marketplace from inside Adobe Commerce.

  • Unified inventory management. Stock levels stay synchronised between Adobe Commerce and Walmart Marketplace in real time, which reduces overselling and improves fulfilment accuracy.

  • Product listing automation. Push products from your Adobe Commerce catalogue to Walmart Marketplace with consistent information and pricing.

  • Order management. Walmart orders arrive in your Adobe Commerce backend and are handled there.

  • First-party integration. Built by Adobe, so compatibility and support come from the same place as the platform, not a third-party middleware vendor.

Why it earned the attention

Walmart Marketplace matters to merchants chasing multi-channel growth — millions of shoppers visit Walmart.com each month. Reaching them used to mean manual processes or a third-party integration tool, with the cost and the failure points that come with both. One fewer integration is one fewer thing to be woken up about.

Setting it up

The integration uses Adobe's standard marketplace connector architecture, already proven across other channel integrations. Enable the channel from the Adobe Commerce admin panel, authenticate with your Walmart seller account, and products and orders begin synchronising within minutes.

Get the product data straight first. Walmart has its own requirements for product information, pricing and compliance documentation, and a marketplace rejecting half your catalogue is a slow problem to unpick.

What this means for you

If you sell in the US on Adobe Commerce, this is a distribution channel you can test without a development project standing in front of it. Adobe has signalled more marketplace connectors to come, so the roadmap is worth watching if Walmart is not the channel you need.
