Extended support for the Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 release line ended on April 14, 2026. That line first shipped in 2022, so it has had a long run.
What actually changes
Nothing breaks on the day. Your store keeps taking orders, and nobody at Adobe reaches over and switches anything off. What stops is the supply of fixes: no more security patches, no more quality fixes, no more official support for that line.
The risk is not immediate — it accumulates. Every vulnerability disclosed from here is one that gets patched on the supported lines — 2.4.7, and 2.4.9 since it arrived on May 12, 2026 — and not on yours. A year from now that gap is the whole story, and it is the kind of thing that surfaces in a PCI review or a client security questionnaire at the least convenient moment.
If you are still on it
You are not stuck, but you are on a clock, and the honest version is that the clock started a while ago. The useful question is not "how do we patch this" — it is what the next platform decision looks like, because a 2.4.4 store is old enough that the upgrade is a project rather than a maintenance task.
That is a better conversation to have with a quarter of runway than with a security questionnaire open in another tab. We are happy to have it either way.
